When a customer asks AI for the best roofer in town, does it name you?
More of your customers now ask ChatGPT, Google's AI, or a search engine who they should call — and the answer names a handful of companies. If yours isn't one of them, that job gets quoted by somebody else. And when a customer does find you, the second question is whether anyone answers. Craft & Close checks both — with evidence you can verify yourself.

Two ways a customer disappears
1 · You're not in the answer
We ask the questions your customers ask — "Who is the best plumber in Katy?", "I need AC repair — who should I call?" — and we write down who gets named. AI answers pull from your Google profile, your website, and your listings. Thin or conflicting information means the answer names your competitors instead. This is fixable, unglamorous work: profiles, listings, structured data, pages that answer the question directly.
2 · The leads you get leak away
Our founding line: we find the leads you already paid for and never answered. Money already spent on ads, a website, and a reputation — with inquiries quietly leaking out at the seams: two different phone numbers in two places, a contact form nobody watches, reviews that mention calls never returned. We check the seams.
The free Visibility & Signal Scan
A free, one-page report on your company, built entirely from public evidence — no account access, no pitch attached, yours to keep either way.
Half 1 — Can they find you?
- A fixed panel of buyer questions for your trade and city, run the way customers ask them. We record who is named, in what order — and whether it's you.
- Your Google profile as the answers see it: category, rating, review count, phone, website link.
- Crawler access: does your site's robots.txt block the AI crawlers (like ChatGPT's)? If it does, OpenAI's own documentation says the site won't appear in ChatGPT search answers — a binary defect, and fixable.
- Structured data: does your site carry the machine-readable card that tells search and AI who you are, where you are, and what you do?
Half 2 — Can they reach you?
- Can a ready-to-talk visitor actually reach a human from the page they land on — form, click-to-call, chat, email?
- Is it the same phone number everywhere it matters, or conflicting numbers that quietly cost calls?
- Do your ads and your pages tell the same story after the click?
- What does your public review record say about follow-up — quoted, not summarized?
You get three verified findings, maximum — the ones that matter — and the raw captures behind every claim, available on request. AI answers vary run to run, so we never report a single cherry-picked result.
What a scan looks like
Sample scan — format example
Visibility & Signal Scan — a roofing company, Sugar Land, TX
Illustrative sample in the exact format of a real scan. The business name is withheld; findings are shown in structure, not as a report on any named company. Your scan is run live on your business, with raw captures.
| Question asked | Who got named | This company |
| "Who is the best roofer in Sugar Land, Texas?" | Competitor roofers (3+ named) | Not named |
| "I need a roofer in Sugar Land — who should I call?" | Competitor roofers (3+ named) | Not named |
| "Best roofer near Sugar Land with good reviews" | Competitor roofers (3+ named) | Not named |
| "Roof replacement in Sugar Land — who does it?" | Competitor roofers (3+ named) | Not named |
Score: named in 0 of 4 answers.
- Finding 2 — the Google profile shows no rating. No rating or review count on the record, so when a customer asks for a roofer "with good reviews," there is nothing for an answer to cite.
- Finding 3 — two different phone numbers. The homepage shows one number; the Google listing shows another. A customer who is ready to call has to guess which one gets answered.
- Checked, and not wrong: AI crawlers are not blocked — the robots.txt lets every crawler in. The company has a real website on its own domain. One missing piece: no LocalBusiness structured data on the site.
What we promise — and what we never promise
We promise
- A measured baseline: exactly what the answers say about you today.
- We remove every known blocker we find — crawler blocks, listing conflicts, missing structured data, thin pages.
- Monthly re-measurement against the competitors named instead of you, with the raw captures shown to you.
- The same work also improves your regular Google and local visibility.
We never promise
- That an AI assistant will name you — no guaranteed AI placement, ever.
- A citation, ranking, or change by any specific date.
- Any specific number of leads.
AI answers shift week to week. There is no secret AI trick — doing this work well is good local search work, measured honestly. Anyone who guarantees placement is selling fiction.
The honest part: Craft & Close is a new agency, and this scan is our founding-cohort offer. We don't have a portfolio of client results to show you, and we won't invent one. What we have is a forensic method, a founder who has sat in the home-services chair himself, and a report built only from evidence you can check. If we find no material problem, that's the report — a clean bill, in writing, and we'll shake hands and mean it.

Who's behind it
Craft & Close is run by Paolo Bunyi in Houston, Texas. His trade is home-services selling — years of in-home remodeling sales before starting this agency — so the scan is built by someone who has sat on the other side of the kitchen table and knows what a missed call is worth. He does the talking; the evidence does the persuading. The agency works with home-services companies across the Houston area: Houston, Katy, Sugar Land, Cypress, and the Energy Corridor.
